What does it really mean to be “healthy”? How do you really know when you are making “healthy choices” when it comes to your mental, physical, emotional, social, and spiritual well-being? And who can really discern about occupational and financial health?

Intuitive Health

You inner guidance system is key to discovering what is best for you, and learning to tap into it can make a huge difference to your quality of life as you start making decisions that you intuitively know are right for you.

Meditation is a critical tool that can help multiple aspects of your life, from your health to your mindset and fitness.

When it comes to intuition, meditation helps you to connect with your thoughts and feelings.

A huge aspect of intuition is listening to your body when it is trying to tell you something. Not only does this help you to tune in to your intuition, it will also make you more mindful. You will think more about your health as you go about your day, and check in with you are feeling.

Because you are paying attention to how you feel, you will notice when a certain food doesn’t make you feel good. You will also notice how great exercise makes you feel when you choose the right kind. These feelings will lead to you making healthier, more mindful choices in life.

Let yourself be curious. Those feelings will drive you to continue moving forward, learning new things about how your body, mind, and spirit respond to life. Curiosity, courage and self-compassion can guide you in taking healthy risks that best serve your well-being.

Besides, my regular workshops, live courses, and self-paced programs, there are other options to give you long-lasting energy, inner joy, and a body that feels its best! Go here to see how you can benefit from the ultimate lifestyle transformation. It’s so vital to understand your consumption habits and how that might impact your body and the planet so you can make choices that can elevate your health, rather than allow it (your body and the earth) to deteriorate.

A while back I interviewed Holistic Nutrition Professor Timaree Hagenburger, RDN on “Loving the Food That Loves You Back”. She spoke of the many benefits of a plant-based diet. You can watch it to discover why this is so important to your physical health, or what I call, “upgrading your operating system”.

Healthy Community

Do you notice a difference between illness and wellness? That’s right, the “I” changes to “We”. Reaching out to health and wellness professionals, gathering with others interested in healthy living, and joining groups that align with your passion and interests make you feel a lot less lonely and much more joyful. You become encouraged to live a long healthy life. Volunteering to be of service, meeting up with friends and neighbours, and being part of a spiritual community or religious organization are also ways to come together in unity.

Jake Ernst, MSW, RSW, a Toronto-based psychotherapist created Routes of Safety which addresses the state of our nervous system as a key part of our mental health. Social engagement is part of the polyvagal system and plays a vital role in our nervous system health.

Of course the other parts of our nervous system that control flight or fight and rest and digest are also key players in our health and well-being.

Your relationship with yourself and your relationship with others go a long way in knowing what is “healthy” and strengthens your quality of life. The way you relate to your body on all levels, and the level in which you safely engage with others, sets the tone for the way you live your life.

What healthy choices will you make now? What healthy choices have you already been making and have seen a difference because of it? Write about it in the comments.
