Read on to stop the self-sabotage.
If you’re like most people, you probably have plenty of excuses. You might even have some good ones. After all, there’s never enough time or money or help to do things. Or is there? What if the only real thing getting in the way of your big ideas was you?
Don’t let your excuses be bigger than your dreams!
It’s time to stop making excuses. Today is the day you take action on your Big Goals.
Making Your Dreams Happen. Override excuses with these simple techniques to get you started:
Typically, when you’re feeling afraid, it’s because you don’t think you’re prepared in some way for what you’re doing. Being nervous and being excited activate the same part of the brain so shift your nervousness into excitement. What resources do you need to support you? Maybe it means grabbing a book, taking a class, or finding a mentor. Do what you can to fill the gap, and you’ll be right back at work in no time!
What if I Fail?
Are mistakes the enemy here? Think about the times you learned something or changed in a better direction as the result of an error. Truly, failure is nothing to be scared of, not when you think of it as an opportunity to learn something new. If you’re worried about how you’ll look should you fail, this is another matter. Remind yourself how few people are actually watching. And for any that do, ask yourself, do their opinions matter? Or is what you are wanting express bigger than that?
I Don’t Have the Money
Is that really true? The funny thing is, we tend to find the money for the things we want to do. Maybe it’s time to sit down and reassess your finances. Just where are you spending your money each month? Is there something you could give up to create a small fund for your project? I have found time and time again, that when you invest in yourself and your dreams, the money comes back to you. Often in unexpected ways. Cultivate the state of prosperity.
Why Am I Doing This?
If your goal is uncertain, it’s easy to hold back simply because you don’t know where you’re going. To drop this excuse, reassess the goal. Make it concrete and measurable in some way. Be as specific as possible, so you know exactly what you’re doing and why. Tap into your true motivations and intentions.
I Don’t Like Change
Let’s face it, change is hard. The status quo is much easier to maintain than it is to go out and try something new. Especially when it’s going to shift the balance in your life and create a.new dynamic.
Don’t hold yourself back because you’re uncertain about whether you’ll like what’s coming next. This is the time to take a deep breath and plunge forward just to see what happens next. Be curious and explore what else is possible! When nothing is certain, anything is possible. Keep doing what it takes to make your dreams happen!
